These are the faces of a dedicated team of professionals who guide the daily operations of Community Interface Services.
Ashley Floyd, Supervisor
Ashley joined Community Interface staff in 2010 as a CIT Resource Counselor. Before CIS, Ashley provided respite, independent living and early intervention services in Humboldt County. Ashley graduated from Ashford University with a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development. After 1 year with CIS, Ashley became a Coordinator for the CIT program, was promoted not long afterward to supervise Day Your Way, CIS’s tailored day program and now oversees the CIT program. Ashley says, “I am so blessed to work for such a great company and with great people. I couldn’t see myself working anywhere else!”
Autumn Ortiz, Supervisor
Autumn came to CIS in 2014 after working as a service administrator in Montana with children and families. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Azusa Pacific University and has also worked for several years in medical social work while living in Texas. Autumn's yearning to be closer to family and sunshine brought her back to San Diego and her desire to continue her work in non-profits brought her to CIS. She is honored to be working as the Supported Living Supervisor for Community Interface and enjoys the daily rewards and challenges that come with the position. Autumn is very thankful to be employed by an agency that puts the clients we serve first and appreciates the employees who provide the services.
Carmen Stoll, Supervisor
Carmen began her career at CIS in 2012 as a resource counselor in the Community Integration Training (CIT) program. New to this industry, she enjoyed every moment of working with the clients. She was then promoted to Program Assistant in 2013. In this position she supported the resource counselors and administrative team in continuing to provide excellent services to our clients. Carmen became a CIT coordinator and then a supervisor where she continues to share her positive energy and ideas with the staff she supervises and the DYW program she oversees. She is very excited to work alongside CIS staff to assist clients in reaching their highest potential. Carmen is frequently overheard saying “I love this job so much!”
Cheryl Carman, Senior Staff Accountant
Cheryl Carman (also known as Cat) joined Community Interface Services on February 14, 2006. She comes to our organization with twenty-six years of Accounting/Bookkeeping experience. Prior to joining us, Cheryl’s first experience with individuals with developmental disabilities was at home while growing up, as she has a brother with Cerebral Palsy and had assisted at several Special Olympic gatherings. She expressed a great satisfaction knowing she was working for an organization that is making such great strides in the community.
Darcy Dahlen, Senior Supervisor
Darcy came to Community Interface Services following college where she double majored in Sociology and Psychology. Her previous experiences include internships as an aide at a Senior Center and as a parent advocate. At CIS, Darcy excelled in direct service, juggling a difficult Independent Living caseload. She was promoted to Unit Supervisor in 1996 and has since worked in both the Independent and Supported Living programs. As a parent, Darcy appreciates the supportive, family friendly work environment at CIS and the very rewarding work. Darcy says, “I enjoy the people and my coworkers. It’s just a fabulous place to work."
Iliana Keenan, Supervisor
Iliana joined Community Interface Services in 2002 with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and experience working with adults with Development Disabilities. During her experience working with Community Interface Services, she has been a Resource Counselor and a Coordinator in our Community Integration, Independent Living, RSVP and Supported Living Programs. Currently, Iliana is supervising our Independent Living Program. She is proud to be part of a team that truly cares for the people we serve and wants to make a difference.
Itzel Calderon, Supervisor
Itzel joined the Community Interface Service team in 2013 after receiving her Bachelor's of Science in Sociology from San Diego State University. Itzel first came on board as an Independent Living Resource Counselor and Supported Employment Job Coach. During her time at Community Interface, Itzel earned her graduate degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from San Diego State University’s Interwork Institute. Itzel has spent her years with Community Interface working as a Resource Counselor, Program Assistant, and Coordinator for our Independent Living, Supported Employment, and Day Your Way Programs; a supervisor in the Community Support Facilitation program; and most recently as a Day Your Way Supervisor. Itzel says "I am proud to work for a company that is passionate and values providing quality services to assist individuals reach their maximum potential."
Lora Juarez, Supervisor
Lora joined CIS in 2007 as a resource counselor in the Community Integration Training (CIT) department before being promoted to CIT Coordinator in 2013. During her time in the field, she worked closely with several individuals with behavioral needs, helping them to become vital members of their communities. Lora continuously strives to deepen her understanding of the CIS philosophy by upholding its standard in all facets of her job. Lora says, "I feel like I get to be part of a puzzle where each piece is so different yet we come together to make one beautiful picture. We come together as a team to truly make a difference in people's lives."
Maegan Monnig, Supervisor
Maegan joined Community Interface Services in 2008, as a Coordinator in the Community Integration Program, after moving from Washington state to Oceanside. She attended Central Washington University and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology, and minor's in Studio Art and Art History. During her time at Community Interface Services, Maegan has been a Coordinator in Supported Living, Independent Living/Supported Employment/Day Your Way programs, as well as assisted with the Rental Assistance program and Recruitment. She is currently the Supported Employment Supervisor. She loves the day to day challenges that come up, and always rolls whatever comes her way.
Patty Adams, Special Projects Supervisor
Patty came on board in 2014 as a Financial Programs Coordinator. Her previous work experience was in accounting and finance in the for-profit sector and she was excited for something new in the field of human services. In her current role as Fiscal Management Supervisor, Patty works closely with the accounting and payroll departments, and oversees the financial management programs including Rental Subsidy, MyFMS, MySSA, and Self-Determination FMS and works on other special projects for the agency. Patty enjoys interacting with Community Interface Services’ diverse stakeholders and says, “It’s a pleasure to see all of the opportunities that are provided to our clients and how the services truly make a difference in their lives.”
